SHOULDER

The shoulder is a very commonly injured joint as a result of both trauma and overuse injuries.

  • Sports injuries of the shoulder including dislocations and acute rotator cuff ruptures
  • Arthroscopic (key hole) shoulder decompression for painful impingement and treatment of biceps tendonitis
  • Arthroscopic rotator cuff repair for shoulder pain and weakness
  • Arthroscopic shoulder release for stiffness
  • Arthroscopic shoulder stabilisation for instability and sports dislocation, and open shoulder stabilisation for grossly unstable shoulders
  • Arthroscopic distal clavicle excision for AC joint arthritis
  • Shoulder replacement for arthritis and reverse shoulder replacements for shoulder arthritis with a severely damaged rotator cuff
  • Shoulder reconstruction and fixation for shoulder and humerus fractures in adults and children
  • Non operative recommendations including injections and physiotherapy for impingement, arthritis and mild rotator cuff weakness
